Imperium

Imperium
real time combat game for Psion S5

In recent months I have commented on the high quality of commercial product release for the Psion Series 5 from companies like Purple Software and Palmtop BV, to the exclusion of the extensive range of shareware and freeware products available for Psion. One example that I found recently was a game called "Imperium", written by Simon Jacobs and David Evans. Imperium is a real time combat game involving building construction factories and combat vehicles, slightly reminiscent of Command and Conquer, which has been so successful on desktop PCs. The current version is still in beta, and so far the developers have concentrated on speed and functionality at the expense of user interface. If the user interface is polished up sufficiently, it will be a worthwhile purchase for Psion users. As it stands, the game looks good and plays well, but you have to follow through the demo game on their web site and read the supplied documentation before starting.
