Series 5 patches

Shortly after the launch of the Series 5mx, which coincided with speculation that Psion might release a replacement ROM for the older Series 5 to support EPOC ER5, Psion released a patch for the Series 5. This replaces several of the system application in RAM, which means that the patch is large and consumes a lot of free space.

The changes are strictly bug fixes, correctly crashes and destructive bugs only; no enhancements are included. This means that the features Psion users have most complained about are not included - outline in Word, sorting and range printing in Sheet, extra views in Agenda, etc. Because of the large amounts of RAM consumed by the patch, and a few reports of problems from users, such as dramatically decreased battery life under certain circumstances, this patch is not recommended.
