In other news from Psion, they have released the sources to their communications protocols (xmodem, ymodem and ascii) to developers. There have been many complaints from developers and users of the Comms application that ymodem is unreliable with some servers, that xmodem is extremely slow, and that there is no zmodem protocol available.

Psion have also released the 5mx Mobile Connectivity update 1.00, an upgrade for the Series 5mx. This adds in support for some newer models of IrDA mobile phones, specifically the Siemens S25, Sagem M8300 and RD750 and Bosch GSM908 models.
