The quest is given by Holly Longtail, a female vah shir located in PoK. She is located on the ground floor of a building between Kaladim and Kelethin stones. If you find the Kaladim Stone and face it, she is in the building on your right. You will need HQ cougar skin, cockatrice beak, undead froglok tongue, and tiny rockhopper eye.
The pelt is the toughest to find by killing; it drops from snow cougars in Iceclad and Eastern Wastes, about 1 in 10 kills. The cockatrice beak can be looted from any type of cockatrice in Overthere, Trakanon’s Teeth or Dreadlands. The tongue can be looted from any froglok, not just undead ones, including those in Innothule Swamp. The tiny rockhopper eye is the easiest; you can find them on the hoppers in the pit in Shar Vahl, they are lvl 1 mobs.
The tongues are easy to find on vendors in PoK as a lot of players sell them. I was able to buy one in the Bazaar for about 1pp. The beaks can also frequently be found on vendors but they sell for about 25pp, or 2 – 5pp in the Bazaar. The pelts can sometimes be bought in the Bazaar for 20pp, or 5gp from the gnome merchants in Iceclad.
Once you have all the items take them to PoK. When you find Holly hail her and she will tell you that you need to combine them in a specimen box. The container can be obtained from Curator Merri, very near Holly. Once you have that, put all items in it and hit combine, then give it to Holly for your ring.
The stats are decent, but the focus effect rocks. It will save you 10 percent mana on every lvl 44 or below spell you cast.
