Underfoot and Everquest 2

by on May.19, 2010, under Everquest II, Uncategorized

I’ve been largely away from Everquest for the past couple of months. This was triggered by being suddenly very busy with work, partly from a combination of customers, and partly from the iPad launch bringing projects together all with the same deadline. (continue reading…)

Jonas Dagmire's Skeletal Hand

by on Feb.10, 2010, under Quests

The Quest. Good walk-through on necrotalk.

Need 70 doubloons total to buy the containers to combine the hand, from Halon Griere, in The Buried Sea. 27 bones, 39 tasks, 7 islands. On the three bone islands, need to do two tasks before you start to get bones, so have to do five tasks per island. The bones for each of the finger combines are spread across islands, so there are no short-cuts there; although the backhand components all come from Jardel’s Hook. (continue reading…)

Escape to Norrath – the Everquest Players Guide

People who don’t have a current subscription to Everquest can get a 14 day trial, called Escape to Norrath. It hasn’t always been 14 days, sometimes it may have been a month, and at others it may have been unlimited. Each Station account without an Everquest subscription can take this trial once. AC Augments by Level

by on Dec.21, 2009, under Equipment

In my opinion there’s no point in starting before level 55, mainly because they just aren’t very many half-way decent AC augs before that level.  In fact, many people would say that there’s little point starting on a set until you are level 70, and even then skipping slots that will be filled by better augs at higher levels.  All of the tank class boards can recommend the latest sets for max level, and these threads are likely to include some strong suggestions for older levels, although these aren’t likely to include newer hot zone drops.  I’m going to ignore raid augs, as most people in that situation will be heading for the level 85 set from the class boards ASAP, and won’t be interested in this sort of information. Basic augments strategy

This is a resource for locating the easy to find dropped augments for any new character. See also Hot Zone Augments. Starting first with the easy augments from hot zones, then giving a basic list of other “easy” augments: RSS/etc. Not included: DoN augs, LDoN augs, Anguish augs, Crystallos augs. Solo experience ranking at 70

by on Oct.19, 2009, under Leveling

Following on from the survey I did of level 55 solo spots, I wanted to repeat the exercise for level 70.  The 55 article was based around using an enchanter with a tank mercenary, which is kind of extreme, but extreme mediocrity, not making any use of the special abilities of an enchanter; in fact, playing the enchanter as if it were a sub-par melee character. Leveling Zones for 55

by on Aug.14, 2009, under Leveling

Reworked from my posts in the SOE forum thread: 55+ solo ideas.

One of the benefits of the Hot Zone switching programme is that it forces us to rethink the “best” zones for levelling every few months.  I have a suspicion that the devs don’t always reset the ZEM back to quite the same as it was before the zone was “hotted”.  As the current (August 2009) hot zone set hasn’t received a noticeable ZEM boost, it was time to check out my personal rankings for favourite zones.   (continue reading…)
